About the Role

Viable Solutions is seeking an experienced Golang Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs. You will work on building scalable, concurrent, and production‐grade Go applications in a cloud‐native environment.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Design and develop high-performance backend services and microservices using Go (Golang)
n
- Build and maintain RESTful and gRPC APIs
n
- Implement concurrency patterns using Go goroutines, channels, and interfaces
n
- Develop and optimise database interactions across relational and NoSQL databases
n
- Integrate with message brokers — Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ
n
- Containerise and deploy Go applications using Docker and Kubernetes
n
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using Go testing frameworks
n
- Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality standards are maintained
n
- Collaborate with cross‐functional teams in an Agile delivery environment
n

Required Skills & Experience

n

n
- 5–8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years hands‐on in Go (Golang) — mandatory
n
- Robust proficiency in idiomatic Go — goroutines, channels, interfaces, and error handling
n




- Experience building RESTful and gRPC APIs in production environments
n
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
n
- Experience with Go frameworks — Gin, Echo, Fiber, or Chi
n
- Strong SQL skills — PostgreSQL or MySQL in production
n
- Experience with NoSQL databases — MongoDB, Redis, or DynamoDB
n
- Hands‐on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
n
- Experience with AWS — EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, or Fargate
n
- Strong understanding of API security — OAuth 2.0, JWT, and OpenID Connect
n
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines — GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar
n

Nice to Have

- Experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers (Protobuf)
n
- Knowledge of NATS or Kafka Streams for event‐driven architecture
n
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing
n
- Exposure to Terraform for infrastructure as code
n
- Contributions to open‐source Go projects
n

Education & Certifications

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
n
- AWS Certified Developer — Associate (advantageous)
n
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) — advantageous
n
