As a political reporter for The West Australian you will lead our federal political coverage, keeping readers across what happens on the hill.

n

Based at Parliament House and reporting to the Editor, you will join an experienced and passionate team delivering insightful and to-the-minute coverage during one of the most fascinating times in Australian politics.

About the role:

- Help lead The West Australian's federal political coverage across both print and digital.
n
- Represent The West Australian in the halls of Parliament and chase stories relevant to a WA readership.
n
- Develop relationships with the politicians in Canberra elected to represent WA electorates.
n

About you:

n

n
- Intimate knowledge of federal politics.
n
- An enviable network of contacts both inside and outside of government.
n
- Substantial journalism experience, including reporting on politics.
n
- The ability to work under pressure.
n
- Solid written and communication skills.
n
- An eye for detail, a head for news and a hunger for a good yarn.
