Job Description

We are seeking experienced civil construction personnel for ongoing projects throughout Toowoomba and surrounding areas.

The primary position is for a hands-on Civil Construction Foreman / Plant Operator. Opportunities are also available for experienced plant operators, concreters, installers and skilled labourers.

n

The work is varied and includes:

n

- Formwork, reinforcement and concrete placement
n
- Retaining wall construction
n
- Kerb and gutter
n
- Commercial and civil fencing
n
- Excavation, drainage and site preparation
n
- General civil construction works
n

n

FOREMAN / PLANT OPERATOR

n

This is a working foreman position, not a supervision-only role. The successful applicant will operate excavators, skid steers and other machinery while leading a small construction crew.

n

Responsibilities include:

n

n
- Reading and interpreting civil and engineering plans
n
- Accurately setting out works, levels, alignments and dimensions
n
- Working from survey control, benchmarks and lasers
n
- Operating excavators, augers, skid steers and associated machinery
n
- Planning and sequencing daily construction activities
n
- Allocating workers and machinery to achieve strong daily output
n
- Coordinating excavation, concreting, installation and finishing works
n
- Monitoring quality, line, level and overall workmanship
n
- Coordinating materials, deliveries and site access
n
- Managing pre-starts and maintaining safe work practices
n




- Working alongside the crew as required
n
- Experience using a GNSS rover would be highly regarded but is not essential.
n

ABOUT YOU

n

The ideal applicant will have:

n

n
- Strong civil or general construction experience
n
- Proven excavator and skid steer operating ability
n
- Experience reading plans and completing accurate site set-out
n
- The ability to organise and manage a small construction crew
n
- Good knowledge of concrete, levels, drainage and earthworks
n
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the finished product
n
- Construction White Card
n
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
n
- Relevant plant tickets or verified competencies
n
- Experience in reinforced concrete, retaining walls, kerb and gutter or fencing will be highly regarded. An MR, HR or HC truck licence would also be advantageous.
