WE'RE HIRING – LEADING HAND ARBORIST

Townsville, QLD | Full-Time, Permanent

$93,600 – $114,400 per year + superannuation

Established in 2007, Skilled Trees Services is a family-owned, QAA Approved Contractor based in Townsville.

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Arborist who takes pride in quality workmanship, knows how to lead a crew, and wants to build a long-term career with a professional arboriculture company.

This is an opportunity to take on a key role within our team, working across a diverse range of government, commercial and residential projects throughout the Townsville region.

About the Role

n

As a Leading Hand Arborist, you'll take responsibility for the safe and productive delivery of tree works while providing leadership and direction to your crew.

n





Your role will include:

n

n
- Leading and supervising tree crews on site
n
- Planning and coordinating daily works
n
- Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
n
- Carrying out and overseeing tree pruning and removals in accordance with Australian Standards and industry best practice
n
- Undertaking tree climbing, EWP and ground-based arboricultural operations as required
n
- Coordinating safe rigging and dismantling operations
n
- Conducting pre-starts, site assessments and safety checks
n
- Ensuring plant, equipment and vehicles are operated and maintained correctly
n
- Communicating professionally with clients, management and other stakeholders
n
- Mentoring and developing less-experienced crew members
n
- Maintaining a safe, organised and productive worksite
n

What We're Looking For

n

We're looking for someone who can combine strong arboricultural skills with the ability to lead by example.

n

Ideally, you'll have:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience in arboriculture and tree operations
n
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Crew Leader or Senior Arborist
n
- Strong knowledge of professional tree pruning and removal techniques
n




- Ability to perform and supervise pruning in accordance with AS 4373 – Pruning of Amenity Trees
n
- Sound knowledge of safe tree removal, rigging and dismantling techniques
n
- Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices
n
- Ability to lead, motivate and support a crew
n
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
n
- Current driver's licence
n
- Relevant chainsaw competencies
n
- White Card
n
- EWP qualifications or experience
n
- MR/HR licence highly regarded
n
- Certificate III in Arboriculture or equivalent qualification highly regarded
n
