About the Role
The Senior Manager, Fleet Operations will lead VicFleet's fleet operational team to provide a range of fleet management services including to Members of Parliament, executives, short-term vehicle bookings to the Victorian Public sector, fuel card and insurance clients, while supporting the transition to a zero-emissions fleet. This hands-on role will oversee vehicle assets, maintenance, fuel cards, insurance, registration, safety and compliance, customer service, fleet optimisation, budgeting and reporting. Working onsite five days a week, you will lead day-to-day operations, build strong client relationships, identify opportunities to improve vehicle utilisation and service offerings, and use fleet data and insurance trends to support driver safety and training.
The role will play a key part in expanding fleet services and driving the uptake of zero-emissions vehicles in support of the Victorian Government's net-zero emissions targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead, coach and develop a diverse fleet operations team, managing rosters, workforce allocation and performance while fostering a secure, inclusive and customer-focused culture.
- Oversee day-to-day fleet services including vehicle hire, registration, insurance and fuel cards, with hands-on management of vehicle movements, parking, traffic flows and onsite operational issues.
- Oversee the full vehicle lifecycle, ensuring safety, maintenance, compliance and efficient utilisation, while identifying and implementing fleet optimisation opportunities.
- Develop trusted relationships with government clients and stakeholders, providing expert advice and expanding fleet services to improve customer experience and operational outcomes.
- Promote strong safety and compliance practices, use data and insights to improve driver and fleet performance, and support Victorian Government initiatives to modernise the fleet and increase zero-emissions vehicle uptake.
About You
To be successful in this role,
you will need topossess the following attributes:
- Strong experience managing the full vehicle lifecycle, including acquisition, utilisation, replacement, disposal and whole-of-life costs.
- Experience using fleet, booking and fuel card systems, as well as spreadsheets and reporting tools to monitor utilisation, costs and performance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle registration, insurance, servicing, roadworthiness, infringements, driver safety, incident management and relevant policies and standards.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant experience in fleet management or a similar operational role.
- Hold a current full Victorian driver's licence and be able to meet the physical requirements of the role.
