SMARTin Safety is an industry leading occupational health and safety consulting firm, servicing Geelong, Melbourne and South Western Districts of Victoria.

n

This position will report to the Managing Director and be directly responsible for:

n

n
- Lead and manage health and safety functions for client projects / activities
n
- Implement and maintain client Safety Management System and project-specific safety plans
n
- Provide visible leadership and coaching to site teams and subcontractors
n
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and safety audits
n
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and project requirements
n
- Facilitate toolbox talks, training, inductions and safety meetings
n
- Monitor safety performance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
n
- Build strong working relationships with the client and regulatory bodies
n

n

Other Responsibilities:

n

n
- Delivering the WorkSafe Victoria OHS Essentials Program
n
- Developing a range of safety management system documentation including (but not limited to):
n




- Policies & Procedures
n
- SWMS
n
- Site Safety Documentation
n
- Emergency Management Plans
n
- Psychosocial Risk Assessments and Prevention Plans
n
- Traffic Management Plans
n
- Completing internal and/or 3rd party audits and inspections
n
- Delivering training programs including SWMS training, and OHS general awareness
n

n

To be successful in the role, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to meet the key criteria as outlined below:

n

n
- Tertiary qualification in OHS or relevant field
n
- AIHS Certification (or willingness to work towards)
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a construction OHS advisory / consulting role
n
- Sound knowledge of Victorian legislation, standards and guidelines related to OHS
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- Ability to lead, influence and drive positive safety behaviours on site
n
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with robust attention to detail
n

n

The following attributes are desirable:

n

n
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment
n
- Previous experience in a consulting or serviced based business
n
