We're looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) team. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating innovative, engaging and compliant learning solutions that support capability development across our diverse national workforce.

About the Role

As our Instructional Designer, you'll lead the design and development of high-quality training and assessment products that align with the 2025 Standards for RTOs, Training Packages and business requirements.

Working closely with subject matter experts, trainers, operational leaders and stakeholders, you'll create learner-centred solutions that improve capability, engagement and performance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain compliant training and assessment products aligned to Training Packages and RTO requirements.
- Develop assessment systems including assessment tools, learner instructions, assessor guides, benchmarks and mapping documentation.
- Lead the end-to-end learning lifecycle including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.
- Conduct learning needs analyses to identify learner requirements, LLN considerations and business outcomes.




- Collaborate with subject matter experts and industry stakeholders to ensure learning solutions reflect current industry practices.
- Develop engaging digital learning resources including e-learning, multimedia content and blended learning programs.
- Utilise learning technologies and platforms to create interactive and measurable learning experiences.
- Support trainers and assessors through coaching, capability development and best-practice assessment guidance.
- Analyse learner data, feedback and completion outcomes to drive continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain documentation and evidence to support compliance, audit readiness and quality assurance requirements.
- Ensure learning resources are accessible, inclusive and suitable for diverse learner cohorts.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, compliance and delivery timeframes.

About You

You are a passionate learning professional who thrives on transforming complex information into engaging learning experiences. You bring a strong understanding of vocational education compliance while balancing creativity, innovation and learner engagement.

To be successful, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in instructional design, learning design or learning development.
- Strong knowledge of the 2025 Standards for RTOs,



Training Packages and vocational education compliance requirements.
- Experience designing compliant training and assessment tools, including mapping and validation processes.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems and e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate or similar.
- Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI and learning analytics.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate business needs into effective learning solutions.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Experience designing learning solutions for diverse learner cohorts and varying LLN requirements.
- Multimedia development skills including video, audio and interactive content creation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.
- The ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Tertiary qualifications in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
