Overall Position Objective:

n

The Big V Championship Women's Head Coach will manage, coordinate and lead the program in line with
n the association's strategic priorities and goals. Provide leadership and ultimately be responsible for the
n performance of the Sunbury Jet's Women's program, including player, Assistant Coach recruitment,
n development and reviews.

n

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the SBA Board and Staff.
n
- Lead the Big V Women's program and work with Youth League coach to align on style of play.
n
- Lead, plan and integrate joint training sessions with Youth League in consultation with Youth League Coach & BOM
n
- Clear and open communication with Youth League coaches & BOM for management of 2-way players
n
- Lead the recruitment of appropriately skilled players, coaches and support staff who contribute effectively to the program.
n
- Plan and lead a program that supports individual and team development.
n
- Plan, schedule and conduct training: preseason, in-season and post-season.
n
- Attend all team / program commitments including scheduled team functions.
n




- Build positive and lasting relationships with all key stakeholders that can lead to program success.
n
- Develop a solid culture and standards within the team in line SBA culture and values, and hold all players and support staff accountable to these standards.
n
- Lead and develop strategies to compete successfully against other Big V programs.
n
- Foster an environment that is conducive to supporting the development pathway from Youth League.
n
- Integrate into the SBA community and engage with key stakeholders and members
n
- Lead camps and clinics during school holidays to promote the program
n
- Understanding and management of Big V playing budgets
n
- Conduct mid and post season reviews in conjunction with BOM.
n
- Respond to reasonable requests from BOM and SBA Board.
n

Experience & Qualifications:

n

n
- Minimum Basketball Australia Level 2 (Association) coaching qualification.
n
- Minimum period of five (5) years coaching and/or playing experience at Big V or higher level is preferred.
n
- Previous experience in managing athletes, coaches and support staff within a high performance basketball development program.
n
- Proven ability to adapt to and meet developing trends in basketball.
n
- Exceptional time management, planning, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Positive and solution focused.
n
- Current Working with Children's Check (WWC)
n
