Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the broader management team, this is a hands-on position suited to an accountant who enjoys working closely with management and operational teams and has a robust understanding of the financial and commercial aspects of project-based businesses.

Key responsibilities

- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
n
- Project and job cost reporting and analysis
n
- Work in Progress (WIP) reporting and reconciliation
n
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
n
- Monitoring project performance, margins and costs
n
- Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger management
n
- Liasing with Tax Accountant
n
- Accounts payable and receivable oversight
n
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
n
- Assisting management with financial analysis and commercial decision-making
n
n
About you
n
n
- Previous experience as a Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant or similar
n
- Experience within the construction, civil or contracting industries preferred
n
- Robust understanding of job costing, WIP and project-based accounting
n
- Experience with Workbench highly regarded
n
- Experience with MYOB
n
- CPA/CA qualification or working towards qualification preferred
n
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
n
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance staff
n
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to become involved across all areas of the finance function
