Job Description

Lead the design direction of a growing modular data centre business who are a specialist provider of modular data centres, battery rooms, switchrooms and critical infrastructure for data centre clients clients.

We are seeking an experienced Design Director to take ownership of the company's design and engineering capability and play a key role in shaping the future growth of the business.

n

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide senior technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from early concept and tender through to construction and delivery. You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team while working closely with clients, consultants, project delivery and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

n

- Set the design and engineering direction across our clients modular product portfolio.
n
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, structural, controls and other disciplines.
n
- Oversee design from concept through to IFC and project close-out.
n
- Lead technical engagement with hyperscale and colocation clients.
n
- Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of our clients modular products.
n
- Support product development and innovation, including emerging data centre technologies.
n
- Build and develop a high-performing engineering function.
n
- Provide senior technical input across bids, ECI, FEED and project delivery.

About you

n

You will be a senior engineering or design leader with:

n

n
- 15+ years' engineering experience within data centres, mission-critical infrastructure or a comparable environment.
n
- 7+ years in a senior design or engineering leadership position.
n
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on major projects.
n
- Direct experience with data centre infrastructure and hyperscale or colocation environments.
n
- Experience with modular, off-site (factory) or DfMA construction ideal but not neccessary.
n
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to engage confidently with senior clients and stakeholders.
n
- A proven ability to build, lead and develop high-performing engineering teams.
n
