We are seeking an Apprentice Boilermaker to join our team in Rockhampton.

This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in a busy transport and logistics workshop. You'll gain hands-on experience working on trailers and heavy transport equipment, while learning fabrication and welding skills from experienced tradespeople in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
n
n
- Assist with the fabrication and assembly of steel components for trailers and transport equipment
n
- Learn to cut, shape, and weld metal using a range of tools and techniques
n
- Support repairs to damaged or worn trailer structures, including chassis, frames and load-bearing components
n
- Assist with modifications and structural repairs to improve durability and performance of equipment
n
- Use workshop tools and equipment safely, including grinders, cutting tools, and welding equipment
n
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements (with support)
n
- Assist with inspections to identify structural damage, wear, or repair requirements
n
- Follow all safety procedures and workshop practices, working to quality and safety standards
n
n
Skills and Experience:
n
n
- Strong interest in fabrication, welding or the heavy vehicle industry
n
- Willingness to learn and complete (or commence) an apprenticeship in Certificate III Engineering - Fabrication (MEM31925) (Boilermaking / Welding)
n
- Successfully completed a minimum of Year 10 or equivalent
n
- Positive problem-solving skills and attention to detail
n
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
n
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
n
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
n
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
n
- Prior workshop, fabrication or mechanical exposure (desirable, not essential)
n
