Senior Advisor - Risk & Business Continuity
Lead enterprise risk, resilience and business continuity across a complex purpose-driven organisation that makes a difference.
We are seeking an experienced risk professional that is keen to take a leading role in strengthening enterprise risk management, organisational resilience and business continuity within a large and complex WA-based business.
This is a senior advisory role with genuine influence. You will work closely with executive leaders, governance functions and senior stakeholders to identify emerging risks, strengthen risk capability and ensure the organisation is prepared to respond effectively to disruption and critical incidents.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Governance, you will be responsible for the ongoing development and operation of a robust enterprise risk management framework, while championing a proactive, organisation-wide risk culture.
Key responsibilities
- Maintaining and continually improving the enterprise risk management framework, policies and processes.
- Facilitating executive reviews of strategic and operational risks, mitigation strategies and risk appetite.
- Maintaining the central risk and controls register and providing high-quality risk reporting to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Working closely with internal audit, governance and compliance functions.
- Building risk awareness and capability across the organisation through advice, training and practical support.
- Identifying emerging risks and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Leading the development, maintenance, testing and execution of business continuity,
crisis management and disaster recovery plans.
- Ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements are aligned with recovery objectives and organisational requirements.
- Reviewing resilience arrangements and recommending improvements.
- Supporting critical incident management and providing explicit visibility of critical functions, people and infrastructure.
- Contributing to governance, internal audit, compliance and special investigation activities as required.
About you
You will be an experienced risk professional who can operate confidently at a senior level and translate technical risk concepts into practical outcomes.
You will bring
- Extensive experience developing, implementing and reviewing risk management, crisis response and business continuity programs
- Robust knowledge of corporate and organisational governance.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
- Curiosity and an enquiring mind along with highly developed communication skills.
- The ability to engage with people at all levels to build organisational support for governance and risk initiatives.
