Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Java / API Developer to join a major enterprise transformation program, building high-volume, mission-critical integration services that support millions of customer interactions.

This is a highly hands‐on development role suited to an engineer who enjoys spending the majority of their time designing, coding, testing and delivering production‐grade Java applications.

n

You'll work within an experienced Agile engineering team using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes and Kafka to build modern APIs, microservices and event‐driven applications at enterprise scale.

n

About the Role

n

As a Java / API Developer, you'll be responsible for the hands‐on development and delivery of enterprise integration services.

n

You'll take solution designs and requirements through to working production code, developing current services and APIs, enhancing existing applications, troubleshooting technical issues and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the platform.

n

This role will particularly suit someone who is technically strong, still actively coding and wants to remain hands‐on rather than move into a purely architecture position.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Hands‐on development of Java and Spring Boot microservices
n
- Design, build and maintain secure, scalable REST APIs
n
- Develop enterprise integration and event‐driven services using Apache Kafka
n
- Write clean, maintainable and production‐ready Java code
n
- Build and deploy cloud‐native applications across AWS and Kubernetes (EKS)
n
- Develop automated unit,



integration and API tests
n
- Debug and troubleshoot complex application and production issues
n
- Optimise application performance, reliability and scalability
n
- Work with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
n
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming and technical problem‐solving
n
- Work closely with Solution Architects and other developers to translate designs into working software
n
- Contribute to engineering standards and development best practices
n
