n The Role
n We are seeking an experiencedConnex Developer / Support Specialistto join a high-performing payments technology team.
n This role is focused on the development, enhancement, support, and ongoing maintenance of the Connex Payment Switch running on IBM Mainframe (z/OS). You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of business-critical payment processing systems while supporting regulatory, compliance, and modernisation initiatives.
n The ideal candidate will bring strong Connex and Mainframe expertise, a solid understanding of payment processing environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, designers, vendors, and delivery teams.
n Key Responsibilities

n

- Provide build, enhancement, and production support for theConnex Payment Switchon IBM Mainframe (z/OS).
n
- Review, assess, and provide recommendations on vendor-proposed Connex changes and customisations.
n
- Collaborate closely with Solution Designers, Architects, and delivery teams to support business and technical initiatives.
n
- Enhance and maintain Host Scheme Payment Interfaces (PIs) during regulatory and compliance releases.
n
- Support migration and modernisation initiatives, including Connex integration with new payment switch platforms.
n
- Monitor the health, performance, and stability of the Connex Mainframe environment.
n
- Apply vendor-supplied Connex maintenance updates, including configuration and code changes.
n
- Implement additions, modifications, and deletions of Payment Interfaces (PIs), Transaction Handlers (THs), and associated batch processes.
n
- Investigate, troubleshoot,



and develop fixes for Connex-related production incidents and defects.
n
- Participate in system testing, release management, and deployment activities to ensure high-quality delivery.

What You'll Need

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
n
- Strong understanding ofPayment Switchfunctionality and payment processing environments.
n
- 2 to 20 years of experience in Connex support, development, or a similar payments technology role.
n
- Proven expertise in gathering, documenting, and analysing functional and technical requirements.
n
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
n
- Ability to work in dynamic environments and adapt to evolving technologies and project requirements.
n
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as within a team.
n
- Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on testing, quality assurance, and production stability.
n
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
