Site Welder / Installer – Safety Barriers & Steelwork

$45–$50 per hour + Superannuation + Travel & Industry Allowances + Equipment

About the role

n

We are looking for an experienced Site Welder / Installer to join our installation team, installing safety barriers, handrails, bollards, gates and other steel safety products across factories, warehouses and construction sites.

n

This is a hands‐on and varied role suited to someone with experience in welding, steel fabrication or installation who enjoys working on different sites and solving practical problems.

n

You will work alongside our Lead Installers and closely with our Project Manager and Project Support team to ensure installation works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

n

The role provides plenty of variety, with different projects and locations throughout the working week. You will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card, along with a full set of tools and equipment required for the role.

Key responsibilities

n

- Install safety barriers, bollards, gates, handrails, guardrails and other steel products.
n
- Carry out on-site welding, fabrication and modification where required.
n
- Interpret plans, measurements and shop drawings.
n
- Set out, drill, anchor and install steel products accurately.
n
- Work alongside Lead Installers and other members of the installation team.
n
- Liaise professionally with clients, site supervisors and other trades.
n




- Identify and resolve installation issues as they arise.
n
- Communicate job progress, variations and site issues to the project team.
n
- Complete SWMS, risk assessments, site inductions and other required site documentation.
n
- Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment.
n
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional work environment.
n
- Some regional and interstate travel may be required.
n
- Overtime opportunities are available.

About you

n

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in their work.

n

You will be comfortable working on construction sites as well as operating within active factories and warehouses. You should be able to work as part of a team while also being capable of completing tasks independently when required.

n

You will have strong attention to detail, good problem‐solving ability and the confidence to deal professionally with clients and site personnel.

n

Experience in welding, steel fabrication, structural steel, handrails, stairs, balustrades or similar installation work would be well suited to this position.

n

Most importantly, you will have a solid work ethic, a commitment to safe work practices and a willingness to learn the way we do things.

Qualifications & experience

n





The following experience and qualifications would be highly regarded:

n

n
- Experience in construction, steel installation or a similar site-based role.
n
- Competent welding ability is essential.
n
- Experience with MIG welding and general steel fabrication.
n
- Experience installing handrails, balustrades, structural steel or similar products.
n
- Ability to read plans, shop drawings and take accurate measurements.
n
- Australian driver's licence.
n
- Construction White Card.
n
- Welding, fabrication or relevant trade qualification would be advantageous.
n
- Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights, Dogging or Rigging licences will be highly regarded.
