Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong Azure background to join their enterprise IT team on a 10-month contract (with likely extension), supporting a high-priority cyber risk remediation program of work.

This is a hands-on infrastructure engineering role, you'll be building and maintaining Terraform modules, deploying Azure Landing Zones, and acting as the core infrastructure enablement partner for a business-critical security uplift initiative.

The Role

n

n
- Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules aligned to the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) for Azure Landing Zone deployments
n
- Translate infrastructure patterns into code-driven, reusable IaC blueprints
n
- Deliver foundational technical controls supporting the cyber risk remediation program — including network origin isolation, host hardening baselines, and identity platform alignment
n
- Manage core Azure services: compute, networking, firewalls, App Services, Logic Apps, storage, and databases
n
- Support complex cloud networking topologies (hub-and-spoke, hybrid, vWAN)
n
- Manage cloud-native services including WAF, DNS, and load balancing
n
- Contribute to cloud cost optimisation and FinOps practices embedded in IaC
n
- Provide incident resolution support for high-criticality production issues
n




- Maintain CI/CD pipelines (YAML) for consistent, repeatable infrastructure builds
n

What You'll Bring

n

n
- 5+ years' experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer
n
- Strong IaC experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub
n
- Hands-on experience designing and managing IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS in Azure
n
- Solid networking expertise (DNS, WAF, load balancing)
n
- Windows/Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
n
- Experience resolving high-criticality production incidents
n
- Degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
n

Nice to Have

- Exposure to cyber security programs or cyber risk remediation work
n
- Experience with Google Cloud (GKE, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM)

- Azure certifications (Administrator, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)

- GCP certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Skilled Cloud Architect, Cloud Digital Leader)

The Details

- Engagement: 10-month contract, strong likelihood of extension

- Location: Sydney preferred (Melbourne considered), 3 days per week in office
n
- Rate: $900 per day
n
