RAC Karri Valley Resort is located in the beautiful Southwest region of WA, approximately 3.5 hours' drive from Perth and just a short drive from Pemberton town centre. Reporting to the Assistant Resort Manager, we are currently seeking a Duty Manager to join us on a full-time basis and play a key role in overseeing the Resort's afternoon and evening operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and a safe, welcoming environment for our guests. This role would be ideal for a local resident or individuals looking to relocate from Perth - on-site accommodation is provided as part of the remuneration package, allowing the right candidate to live and work on-site. What will you be doing?
n
n
- Oversee the smooth running of Resort operations during afternoon and evening shifts, resolving operational issues as they arise.
n
- Provide a visible, hands‐on presence across Resort departments and support teams during peak periods.
n
- Ensure high standards across accommodation, grounds, activities, food and beverage, cleanliness and customer service.
n
- Support guest arrivals and departures, including check‐ins, check‐outs and coach group arrivals.
n
- Respond to guest enquiries and complaints, providing effective service recovery and escalating issues where required.
n
- Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, WHS and other relevant regulations.
n
- Manage the after‐hours phone and call‐outs, assisting with emergencies in line with RAC procedures.
n
- Complete nightly venue closures and provide clear overnight reports and handovers to ensure continuity between shifts.

What you'll bring to the team
n
n
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, park or motel management environment, ideally in a regional or remote setting.
n
- Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for creating positive guest experiences.
n
- Strong knowledge of operational, safety and regulatory requirements within a Resort or hospitality environment.
n
- A calm, professional and decisive approach when managing operational issues or emergencies.
n
- Excellent communication and relationship‐building skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and confidently as the senior operational representative on site during evenings and after hours.
n
- A hands‐on approach, with the flexibility to work across all areas of the Resort when required.
n
n
Must have:
n
n
- Senior First Aid Certificate, Driver's Licence and RSA.
n
- Current Approved Manager's Licence, or willingness to obtain.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Tourism/Hospitality Management or equivalent are an advantage.
n
- Must be available to work late afternoon and evening shifts and manage the after‐hours phone.
n
- Physically capable of working indoors and outdoors and performing manual tasks including walking, bending and lifting.
n
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance as part of RAC's pre‐hire process.
