n ACT $115,000 – $125,000 + Super + Vehicle Allowance | Permanent Full-Time

Take the next step in your HSEQ career with a leading national mechanical contractor We are currently working with a Tier I Mechanical Contractor with a strong national presence, who are looking to appoint an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of HSEQ across a major Defence project in the ACT, working closely with an experienced project team and supporting the delivery of a high-profile construction project.

n

The company has an established reputation across Australia and a strong pipeline of major projects spanning Defence, data centres, commercial and other complex building services projects.

The Opportunity

n

As HSEQ Advisor, you will provide hands‐on support and guidance to the project team, ensuring high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance are maintained throughout the project.
n Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Providing HSEQ advice, guidance and support to Project Managers and site teams.
n
- Monitoring and managing hazard identification and reporting across site.
n
- Developing and implementing risk and hazard mitigation strategies.
n
- Conducting incident investigations and recommending corrective actions.
n
- Undertaking site audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
n
- Supporting the implementation and continual improvement of HSEQ systems.
n
- Monitoring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
n




- Maintaining HSEQ documentation and ensuring workers remain compliant.
n
- Reporting HSEQ performance and issues to senior management.
n
- Promoting a proactive safety culture and positive HSEQ behaviours across the project.
n

What We're Looking For

n

We're looking for an HSEQ professional with previous experience working within a construction, building services or mechanical contracting environment.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Previous experience in an HSEQ / WHS / HSE Advisor position.
n
- Experience working on construction projects and within site-based environments.
n
- Solid knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and relevant standards.
n
- Experience with risk assessments, audits, incident investigations and safety systems.
n
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with Project Managers, site teams and senior stakeholders.
n
- A proactive approach to identifying and managing HSEQ risks.
n
- Relevant HSEQ qualifications will be highly regarded.
n

Defence Project Requirements

n

Australian Citizenship is essential for this position, as the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain the relevant Australian Government security clearance required for the Defence project.
