Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Senior Credit Analyst to join our growing mortgage broking team.
n
This role suits someone who loves solving complex lending scenarios, understands lender policy inside out, and takes pride in getting the structure right before an application reaches the lender.
n
You won't simply process applications.
n
You'll take ownership of the credit analysis and loan structuring behind each deal, working closely with our brokers to deliver strong outcomes for clients.
n
The Role
n
As our Senior Credit Analyst, you'll be responsible for assessing, structuring and preparing residential lending applications from initial strategy through to submission.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Complete servicing assessments across multiple lenders
n
- Research and interpret lender credit policies
n
- Recommend suitable lender and product options to brokers
n
- Structure purchases, refinances, equity releases and investment lending
n
- Review PAYG, self-employed, company and trust income
n
- Analyse tax returns, financial statements and supporting financial information
n
- Review existing loan structures and property portfolios
n
- Identify credit and policy risks before submission
n
- Prepare clear credit notes and application strategies
n
- Package high-quality applications for submission
n
- Work with lender BDMs and credit teams on complex scenarios
n
- Review applications for accuracy, compliance and credit quality
n
- Manage approval conditions and credit-related queries
n
- Support and mentor junior team members
n
- Help improve our internal credit processes and systems
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
You'll have strong experience in Australian residential lending, either within mortgage broking or banking.
n
You should be comfortable receiving a client file and independently working through:
n
We're looking for someone with:
n
n
- Strong residential lending experience
n
- Excellent knowledge of Australian lender policies
n
- Advanced servicing and borrowing capacity skills
n
- Experience with complex investment lending
n
- Strong understanding of self-employed borrowers
n
- Experience reviewing company and trust structures
n
- Solid attention to detail
n
- Clear written and verbal communication
n
- Strong problem-solving skills
n
- Confidence dealing directly with lenders, BDMs and credit teams
n
- High personal accountability
n
- The ability to manage multiple files without sacrificing quality
n
- Experience with Mercury Nexus and ApplyOnline would be highly regarded.
n
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking would also be highly regarded.
n
