About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and experienced Senior Archaeologist or Specialist Archaeologist to join our growing Queensland team. This senior-level role will sit within our Indigenous support team, directly working with Aboriginal Parties throughout Queensland. The successful candidate will bring specialist expertise in culture heritage and will play a key role in mentoring junior staff and upholding and improving Everick's quality standards in the field and in reporting.

Key responsibilities

- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with Aboriginal parties in the role of technical advisor
- Conduct archaeological surveys
- Conduct archaeological excavations
- Attend negotiation meetings in support of Aboriginal Parties
- Report writing and research
- Assist in cultural heritage management plans if required
- Submit invoicing time sheets and expenses to administration staff on a timely basis throughout the month
- Prepare tenders and quotes for new jobs as directed by the senior team members
- Manage projects to ensure budgets are not exceeded
- Obtain purchase orders for any additional work required from the original tender/quote

About you

- A degree (preferably with Honours or above) in archaeology, cultural heritage management, or anthropology
- An understanding of the heritage legislation in Queensland
- 5+ years' experience (Senior)



or 8-10+ years (Specialist) in the heritage industry
- Excellent written skills in various forms of reporting
- Ability to take instruction from senior staff
- Proven ability to meet all quality standards associated with reporting
- Ability and willingness to travel as required, including working remotely in the field
- Comprehension of the methods and ethics of the heritage consulting practice
- To participate in any relevant training programs when required
- White Card (OHS Construction) and Current C-Class Drivers License – Essential
- High level of Project Management skills
- Manage high level projects of appropriate size and complexity including timeframes, budgets, supervision of team members and client interaction.
- Proven ability to successfully manage teams
- Proven ability in delivering projects within agreed timeframes and budgets as well as delivering high quality standards
- Experience in supervising field teams
