The Opportunity
St Francis of Assisi College is seeking a warm, capable, and highly organised Office Administrator / School Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our school.
Working under the direction of the Principal (or delegate) with minimal day-to-day supervision, you'll be the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, and a key part of keeping our front office running smoothly.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys solving problems on the spot, and takes pride in delivering a professional, caring service to a busy school community.
Key responsibilities include;
- Providing a professional, friendly front-of-house experience, managing the flow of people, phone calls, and enquiries through the school office
- Delivering high-level administrative support to school leaders, including diary and calendar management, correspondence, minute-taking, and preparation of meeting papers
- Coordinating enrolments, recruitment support (job listings, interview scheduling, applicant communication), and new staff/volunteer inductions
- Maintaining accurate student and staff records, generating reports, and preparing Government and Statutory Authority returns
- Managing Working with Children Clearance and Volunteer Register compliance in line with CESA requirements
- Acting as a designated First Aid Officer, maintaining First Aid facilities, records, and student Medical Emergency Plans
About You
We are seeking someone who:
- Has demonstrated experience in a busy administrative or front-office role, ideally within a school or similarly fast-paced environment
- Brings excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine ability to connect with children, families, and colleagues from all walks of life
- Is highly organised, able to juggle competing priorities, and stays calm and solutions-focused under pressure or in unexpected situations
- Is confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and can quickly pick up new systems and databases
- Works well independently and exercises sound judgement, while also being a supportive, cooperative team member
- Is committed to confidentiality, professionalism, and upholding the Catholic ethos and safeguarding standards of our school community
- Certificate IV in Administration or Business (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
- Holds a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance to work in Catholic Education South Australia (or willing to undertake)
- Holds a current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings (or willing to undertake)
- Holds a First Aid Qualification (or willing to undertake) as directed by the school
St Francis of Assisi College is a College on the rise — small enough that you're known by name,
and ambitious enough to offer real scope for professional growth, leadership and innovation.
- Backed by Catholic Education South Australia (CESA), including the SA Catholic Schools Enterprise Agreement, Country Teaching Incentives for regional roles, and access to CESA's qualified learning programs
- A distinctive College culture built around our House System and Rowing Program, plus the Riverland's relaxed pace, riverside living and affordable cost of living
- Genuine opportunities to help shape our school culture and current College traditions as part of a still‑growing school community
