About the role
n
As a Kiosk Assistant, you'll work in a quick‐paced café/kiosk environment, providing efficient, friendly service to everyone who visits the centre. You'll play a key role in:
n
n
- Customer service – being the welcoming face of the kiosk
n
- Operations – helping with food preparation, stock and cash handling
n
- Compliance & safety – following food safety, cash handling, and WHS procedures at all times
n
n
This role suits someone who enjoys a busy environment, can multitask, and loves working with people.
n
What you'll do
n
n
- Provide exceptional customer service to all café/kiosk customers in a friendly and timely manner
n
- Maintain a clean, tidy and professional appearance, including wearing the required uniform and name badge
n
- Build positive, co‐operative relationships with customers and team members
n
- Assist with food and beverage preparation and baking as required
n
- Follow all food handling requirements and legislation, including monitoring use‐by dates and disposing of expired products correctly
n
- Help with stock ordering, receiving and stocktakes, and keep shelves and fridges well stocked
n
- Follow cash handling procedures with 100% accuracy, ensuring the register balances at the end of each shift
n
- Keep the kiosk area clean, tidy and free from hazards,
maintaining a high standard of presentation
n
- Work safely and support YMCA NSW risk management and WHS requirements, including incident reporting and hazard management
n
n
What you'll bring
n
n
- Self‐motivated, customer‐focused and able to work well as part of a team
n
- A welcoming, friendly and approachable manner
n
- Ability to multitask and perform in a high‐volume service environment
n
- Previous customer service experience
n
- Barista experience
n
- Current CPR certificate (essential)
n
- Desirable: Food handling certification
n
- A reasonable level of fitness and safe manual handling techniques – this role includes physical duties and repetitive manual tasks
n
