Great Southern Fuel Supplies
Western Australia
Great Southern Fuel Supplies is a proudly Western Australian-owned business supplying bulk fuel and lubricants across regional and metropolitan WA.
As our business continues to grow and strengthen its systems and processes, we are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Advisor to join the team.
This is a diverse role suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on, supporting their colleagues and making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.
About the Role
Working across Payroll, Accounts Payable and Administration, you will provide valuable support to our existing Finance and HR teams while also helping us identify opportunities to improve the way we work.
You will become a key point of support for payroll and accounts payable, providing coverage during periods of leave and assisting with reconciliations, compliance, systems and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Complete payroll reconciliations and pre-payment check before payment files are submitted to the CFO.
Ensure payroll processes remain accurate, compliant and up to date.
Identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements.
Manage Workers Compensation administration.
Maintain the organisational structure within the payroll system.
Assist with the implementation of changes arising from future Driver Award and EBA negotiations, including updating payroll policies, pay rates and award settings.
Support the Payroll Officer with payroll queries and day-to-day payroll processes.
Work closely with HR to ensure accurate and timely onboarding and offboarding information is communicated to payroll.
Support the Accounts Payable team with invoice processing and data entry.
Assist with the implementation of AP automation initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, efficiency and accuracy.
Provide payroll and Accounts Payable coverage during periods of leave.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings robust payroll and accounts payable experience, excellent attention to detail and a willingness to get involved across the business.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in a payroll and/or accounts payable role.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Experience working with Definitiv or MYOB would be highly regarded but not essential.
A solid understanding of payroll processes, reconciliations and compliance requirements.
Experience with accounting systems such as Sage 300.
The ability to confidently identify issues, investigate discrepancies and find practical solutions.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with HR, Finance and operational teams.
A proactive approach to identifying process improvements rather than simply accepting "the way we've always done it".
The ability to work independently while knowing when to seek support.
Why Join Great Southern Fuel Supplies?
This is an opportunity to join a business that is continuing to grow and evolve.
We are investing in our people, systems and processes and are looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple areas of the business, broaden your skills and make a genuine contribution to improving the way we operate.
If you are an experienced payroll or accounts professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in getting the details right and likes finding better ways of doing things, we'd love to hear from you.
