About the Role
n
Reporting to the Payroll Service Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with the VPS Enterprise Agreement, relevant legislation and departmental policies.
n
You will be responsible for processing a range of complex payroll transactions through SAP SuccessFactors, while providing accurate and timely advice to employees and managers on payroll, employment conditions and benefits.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Processing fortnightly complex payroll transactions through SAP SuccessFactors
n
- Processing salary overpayments and preparing documentation for recovery
n
- Managing redundancy and separation payments
n
- Processing WorkCover-related payroll transactions
n
- Processing superannuation, including Defined Benefits transactions
n
- Ensuring payroll entries are supported by appropriate documentation and evidence
n
- Providing accurate advice to employees and managers regarding payroll, employment conditions and benefits
n
- Responding to payroll queries through service management systems, including Salesforce
n
- Investigating and resolving payroll issues using effective problem-solving and analytical skills
n
- Maintaining accurate employee data within SAP SuccessFactors
n
- Supporting payroll data remediation, back payments and other payroll corrections
n
- Maintaining accurate records in accordance with legislative, privacy and information management requirements
n
- Contributing to continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems and practices
n

About You
n
You are an experienced payroll professional with robust attention to detail and proven experience managing complex payroll transactions within a large and structured setting.
n
You will bring hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors, particularly Employee Central Payroll and Employee Central, together with a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
n
Ideally, you will have experience working within a Victorian Public Service payroll environment and applying the VPS Enterprise Agreement and relevant Victorian public-sector employment conditions.
n
You will also demonstrate:
n
n
- Strong transactional payroll processing experience
n
- Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors ECP and Employee Central
n
- Experience processing complex payroll transactions including overpayments, back payments, redundancies and separations
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll, taxation and superannuation requirements
n
- Experience with payroll data remediation and maintaining data accuracy
n
- Experience processing WorkCover payments
n
- Experience with Defined Benefits superannuation will be highly regarded
n
- Strong understanding of the VPS Enterprise Agreement and Victorian public-sector payroll conditions
n
- Excellent communication and employee advisory skills
n
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving capability
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements
n
- Experience using Salesforce or a comparable service management platform will be advantageous
n
- Government or large, complex payroll experience will be highly regarded
n
