About the role:

n

As the Waste Services Contracts Officer, you'll provide specialist contract management support across Darebin's Waste Services portfolio.

n

You'll work closely with operational teams and waste contractors to monitor performance, manage contractual requirements and identify risks, issues and opportunities throughout the contract lifecycle.

n

From KPIs and expenditure to variations, renewals and contractor performance, you'll help ensure Council's waste contracts deliver safe, reliable, compliant and value-for-money outcomes for the community.

You will:

n

- Manage and monitor Waste Services contracts and contractor performance.
n
- Track KPIs, expenditure, risks, milestones, renewals and contractual obligations.
n
- Work with contractors to address performance issues and improve service outcomes.
n
- Support variations, extensions, renewals and other contract requirements.
n
- Identify and manage contractual, financial, operational and compliance risks.
n
- Provide clear reporting, analysis and advice to the Manager Operations & Waste.
n
- Support consistent and effective contract management practices.
n
- Identify opportunities to improve contract performance,



efficiency and value for money.
n
- Work closely with operational teams, suppliers and contractors to resolve issues and deliver outcomes.
n

About you:

n

You're an experienced contract management professional who understands the importance of solid contractor relationships, performance accountability and effective governance.

n

You will bring:

n

n
- Demonstrated contract management experience, ideally within waste services or a comparable operational environment.
n
- Strong experience monitoring contractor performance and KPIs.
n
- Sound commercial, financial and risk management capability.
n
- Strong understanding of contract obligations, variations, renewals and compliance.
n
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and resolve issues pragmatically.
n
- A proactive approach to improving contract performance and value for money.
n
