Lead Occupational Therapist

We're looking for a Lead Occupational Therapist to join our Melbourne team, delivering high-quality care to clients while playing a key leadership role in the growth, performance and culture of our Melbourne Occupational Therapy team.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical work

n

n
- Assess and manage the needs of clients, and provide expert advice and treatment options
n
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in the delivery of care
n
- Utilise advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice
n
- Participate in the development and implementation of clinical programs and services
n
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with documentation requirement
n
- Provide clinical support and coaching to junior Occupational Therapists
n
- Continually review our current processes with an eye for improvements, including updating our team wiki with best practice
n
- Prepare training and educational materials for the organisations we work closely with
n
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and develop strategies to enhance the quality of care
n
- Engage in professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge
n

Team Leadership & Development

n

n
- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to the Melbourne Occupational Therapy team; you'll be supported by the National Head of OT
n
- Regularly check in with team members to understand performance, workload, development needs and wellbeing.
n
- Support clinicians through complex cases, professional challenges and difficult client or stakeholder situations.
n
- Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and address any issues or concerns
n
- Support onboarding and integration of new Occupational Therapists into the Melbourne team
n
- Identify development opportunities and support clinicians to build their clinical and professional capabilities
n
- Assist with performance reviews, goal setting and ongoing development planning
n
- Support succession planning and identify emerging leaders within the team
n
- Collaborate with the National Head of OT on team planning, workforce needs and organisational priorities
n
- Ensure that all compliance requirements are met, including team certifications are up to date
n

Organisational Growth

- Partner with Talent Acquisition and the National Head of OT to identify workforce needs and recruit high-quality Occupational Therapists
n
- Proactively create knowledge sharing opportunities across Nimbus Health
n
- Contribute to company and departmental training sessions
n
- Act as a brand advocate for Nimbus Health
n

About You

n

n




- Bachelor Degree of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
n
- Current AHPRA registration
n
- A valid Australian driver's license
n
- Regular access to a car
n
- At least 5+ years' experience, with previous leadership, mentoring or team coordination experience
n
- A genuine interest in developing people and building high-performing teams
n
- Ability to balance the needs of individual team members with broader team and organisational priorities
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
n
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of a range of occupational therapy treatment modalities
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload of clients and prioritise tasks effectively
n
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
n
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
n
- A positive attitude and strong desire to make a difference in clients' lives
n
