We are currently seeking a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Front of House / Floral Warehouse Assistant to join the team at a leading floral wholesale business located in Sandgate, Newcastle.

n

This is a varied, hands-on role combining customer service, floral product knowledge and warehouse duties. You don't need years of floristry experience - we're looking for someone who already has some practical floral knowledge, is comfortable working with fresh flowers and, most importantly, is keen to learn and develop their skills.

n

The role will initially be casual ongoing, working approximately 3-4 days per week, including some Saturdays, with early starts of approximately 6:30-7:00am.

n

For the right person, there is also the potential to progress into a full-time role directly with the business in the future, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build a longer-term career in the floral industry.

Pay Rate: $34.97 per hour

About the Role

n

Working across both the front-of-house and warehouse areas, your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Assisting customers and providing friendly, knowledgeable service
n
- Helping customers with flower and product selections
n
- Merchandising and maintaining attractive front-of-house displays
n
- Receiving and checking incoming fresh flower and plant stock
n
- Preparing fresh flowers for storage and sale
n
- Checking product quality and identifying floral varieties
n
- Maintaining and organising cool room stock
n
- Picking, checking and preparing customer orders
n
- Assisting with stock counts and stocktakes
n
- General warehouse and housekeeping duties
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone who:

n

n
- Has some floristry experience, training or practical floral knowledge
n
- Can recognise a range of common flowers and floral varieties
n
- Enjoys working with customers and has a friendly, helpful approach
n
- Is genuinely interested in learning more about flowers and developing their skills
n
- Is happy working across both customer-facing and hands-on warehouse duties
n
- Is reliable, punctual and comfortable with 6:30-7:00am starts
n
- Is available approximately 3-4 days per week, including some Saturdays
n
- Has good attention to detail, particularly when handling fresh product
n
- Is physically capable of performing the manual tasks associated with a floral warehouse environment
n
- Is comfortable working in cool room conditions
n
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
n

Extensive floristry experience isn't essential. If you have a positive foundation of floral knowledge, a genuine interest in the industry and the enthusiasm to learn, we'd like to hear from you.
