Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive and ergonomic office products and is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to join their team at their manufacturing facility in Crestmead.

The Role
n
As the Operations Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the overall operation, including manufacturing processes, staff, resources, safety and facility management. Key responsibilities include:
n

- Coordinate workflow across all departments to ensure quality products are produced and customer requirements are consistently met.
n
- Oversee the selection and procurement of raw materials for projects.
n
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers regarding quality, delivery and other key operational requirements.
n
- Manage and oversee Quality Assurance processes.
n
- Manage material planning, forecasting, production scheduling and cost control.
n
- Manage contracts and monitor the provision of services to ensure agreed standards and requirements are maintained.
n
- Ensure customer orders are scheduled in the most efficient and economical manner.
n
- Monitor and control work in progress.
n
- Manage the repairs and maintenance of the facility and equipment.
n
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the business by proactively identifying new opportunities and markets.
n
- Develop and implement operational strategies, processes and procedures to improve manufacturing performance.
n
- Champion business change and provide strong leadership across all areas of employee management.
n
- Determine equipment, material and manpower requirements for project execution.
n
- Drive Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.
n
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
n
- Monitor and proactively enforce compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
n
- Promote and maintain secure work practices and behaviours at all times.
n
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
n
n
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar operations or manufacturing leadership role.
n
- Proven leadership, supervisory, people management and negotiation skills.
n
- A strong understanding of safety and quality management requirements within a manufacturing environment.
n
- A proactive and results-driven approach, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and achieving financial objectives.
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
- Sound computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
n
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
n
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
n
- A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
