About the Role
n
The Reception, Administration, Café & Learn-to-Swim Co-ordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of customer-facing operations at the Denise Spencer Aquatic Centre. This role oversees front-of-house services, administrative processes, café operations, and the Learn-to-Swim (LTS) program to ensure a safe, welcoming, efficient, and community-focused aquatic setting.

The Supervisor provides leadership to casual and part-time staff,
ensures compliance with industry standards, supports centre management, and delivers high-quality service to patrons of all ages.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Reception & Customer Service
n
n
- Front-of-house operations - Oversee daily reception duties including customer enquiries, membership processing, point-of-sale transactions, and facility access.
n
- Customer experience - Ensure all patrons receive friendly, efficient, and professional service.
n
- Staff supervision - Train, roster, and support reception staff to maintain consistent service standards.
n
- Issue resolution - Manage customer complaints, feedback, and incident reporting.
n
n
Administration
n
n
- Record management - Maintain accurate attendance, membership, financial, and program records.
n
- Compliance support - Assist with audits, safety documentation, and operational reporting.
n
- Financial processing - Oversee daily takings, banking, invoicing, and reconciliation.
n
- Communication - Coordinate internal communication between staff, management, and external stakeholders.
n
- Café supervision - Oversee the operation of the pool café including food preparation, stock control, and hygiene standards.
n
- Food safety - Ensure compliance with Queensland food safety regulations.
n
- Stock & ordering - Manage inventory, supplier orders, and cost control.
n
- Program coordination - Oversee scheduling, enrolments, class allocation, and program delivery.
n
- Instructor supervision - Support, mentor, and roster swim instructors to ensure high-quality lessons.
n
- Program quality - Maintain alignment with AUSTSWIM/RLSSA teaching standards.
n
- Parent communication - Provide updates, feedback, and support to families enrolled in the program
n

Leadership & Team Support
n
n
- Team leadership - Provide positive, hands‐on leadership across all supervised areas.
n
- Training & onboarding - Support new staff with induction, training, and ongoing development.
n
- Rostering - Create and manage rosters to ensure adequate coverage across reception, café, and LTS.
n
- Workplace culture - Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
n
