Ampcontrol is seeking an experienced High Voltage Field Service Technician to join our Townsville Service team. In this hands-on field-based role, you'll support customers across the mining, utilities, and infrastructure sectors by delivering high-quality maintenance, testing, commissioning, and fault-finding services on critical electrical assets.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled HV technician looking to work on a diverse range of projects while being part of an creative and safety-focused organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Perform maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of high voltage electrical equipment
n
- Test and maintain protection systems, transformers, switchgear and earthing systems
n
- Conduct inspections and monitoring of HV/LV metering and electrical safety equipment within switchyards and substations
n
- Prepare detailed testing, commissioning and service reports
n
- Identify customer requirements and provide technical advice on products and services
n
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support business process development
n
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
n
- Travel to customer sites across Queensland and occasionally interstate as required.

What We're Looking For

n

Essential

n

n
- Electrical Licence valid in the state of employment
n
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology
n
- Current Driver's Licence
n




- High Voltage Switching Operations qualification
n
- Work Safely at Heights certification
n
- Current LVR/CPR certification
n
- Demonstrated experience in HV maintenance and testing environments
n
- Experience working with protection systems, transformers, switchgear and earthing systems
n
- Strong commitment to safety and quality outcomes.
n

Highly Regarded

n

n
- Experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects within mining, manufacturing, utilities, oil and gas or heavy industrial environments
n
- Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
n
- Strong reporting and Microsoft Office skills.
