We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a dynamic, community-focused health service. This is a senior leadership role overseeing a GP Clinic, Allied Health and Specialist Clinics and a Dental Clinic.

Candidates must have a minimum of 1-2 years of healthcare management experience.

This role is ideal for a values-driven leader who thrives on continuous improvement, team development, and delivering high-quality, culturally safe healthcare.

About the Role

The Practice Manager is responsible for the effective operational management of our GP clinic, Allied Health & Specialist Outreach Clinics and dental services. You will work closely with the CEO to ensure high standards of clinical governance, service delivery, compliance, and financial sustainability.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong operational capability, people management skills, and the ability to lead change.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

Lead and support clinical, dental and specialist and allied health clinics

Foster a positive, collaborative and culturally safe workplace

Support workforce planning and performance management

Operational Oversight

Oversee daily operations of:

GP Clinic

Specialist and Allied Health clinics

Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements

Funding and operational contract development and delivery

Manage systems, policies and procedures

Monitor KPIs, reporting and service performance

Financial & Strategic Oversight

Support budget management and financial sustainability

Identify opportunities for service improvement and growth

Contribute to strategic planning and organisational development

Key Challenges of the Role

Implementing practice improvements in collaboration with the team





Supporting and coordinating multidisciplinary teams (GPs, Specialists & Allied Health, Dental)

Maintaining accreditation and compliance standards

Driving efficiency while maintaining high-quality, culturally safe care

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated experience in practice management

Solid leadership skills, with a genuine commitment to developing, mentoring and growing staff capability.

Demonstrated ability to build positive, respectful and accountable teams and contribute to a strong workplace culture.

A genuine motivation to make a difference for community and contribute to improved health and service outcomes.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, including identifying opportunities to strengthen systems, workflows, patient experience and service delivery.

A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to take ownership and follow matters through to completion.

Demonstrated ability to lead and adapt to change in a growing and evolving organisation.

Experience implementing and managing funding, operational or service contracts.

Experience implementing quality improvement initiatives and maintaining accreditation and compliance requirements.

Strong organisational, communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across clinical, administrative and leadership teams.

Commitment to culturally safe, respectful and community-focused service delivery, including a willingness to listen,



learn and build strong relationships with Aboriginal staff, patients and community.

Demonstrated willingness to learn, grow and develop professionally, including learning new systems, programs and areas of responsibility.

Working with Vulnerable People Check and/or Police Clearance as required prior to commencement.

Preferred

Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP) qualification or Registered Nurse qualification.

Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO), Aboriginal health service or community health setting.

Understanding of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health model and the role of ACCHOs in improving Aboriginal health outcomes.

Knowledge of Medicare billing, practice management software and health funding models.

Experience with accreditation processes, clinical governance, workforce development or health service quality systems.
