Job Description

n
- Manage ANZ accounting, financial reporting and audit matters under local GAAP and US GAAP
n
- Maintain strong internal controls across in-scope entities and businesses
n
- Provide technical accounting guidance and ensure policy compliance
n
- Evaluate contracts and draft or review accounting memos for ANZ accounting issues
n
- Ensure accurate, timely and high-quality internal, external, statutory and regulatory reporting for Australia and Recent Zealand, including APRA and RBNZ reporting
n
- Own the ANZ financial statement close process and coordinate country accounting teams
n
- Review quarterly P&L; and balance sheet variance analysis and support consolidated financial statements
n
- Partner with the APAC Controller and local Finance leadership on business drivers and reporting
n
- Manage ANZ internal and external audits, track issues and complete remediation actions
n
- Manage, coach and develop ANZ accounting teams
n
- Assess team structure and capability needs and attract and retain talent
n
- Support global accounting initiatives and special projects
n
- Review processes and procedures to identify improvements and efficiencies
n

Requirements

n

n
- 10+ years of experience in Controllership and/or Accounting/Finance leadership roles
n
- Commercial accounting experience
n
- Strong audit management experience
n
- Experience managing large and diversified teams across different geographies
n
- Experience in financial services and/or insurance across Australia and New Zealand preferred
n
- IFRS 17 knowledge preferred
n
- Bachelor of Commerce or Business, majoring in Accounting
n
- CPA or CA qualification
n
- Strong local GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS knowledge
n
- Strong APRA and RBNZ reporting skills
n




- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing finance teams
n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
n
- Strong Microsoft Office capability; advanced Excel preferred
n
- Strong organisation and time management skills
n
- Exceptional numerical, analytical and problem-solving capability
n
- Solid attention to detail
n
