Our client is a global battery technology group expanding its renewable energy footprint in Australia. They are seeking a technically strong design professional to support early-stage development activities across a portfolio of renewable and energy storage projects, from site feasibility through to ready-to-build and delivery.

Key responsibilities

- Support power system and connection design for battery storage, co-located storage, solar PV, hydrogen, and wind projects.
n
- Lead and review engineering feasibility work, technical assessments, and value engineering studies.
n
- Develop and refine electrical layouts, equipment sizing, single-line diagrams, and connection concepts.
n
- Review contractor and consultant deliverables, challenging design assumptions where required.
n
- Carry out electrical and power system studies, including stability and performance assessments.
n




- Work closely with development, procurement, engineering, controls, and construction teams to support design, commissioning, and delivery.
n
- Liaise with utilities, consultants, suppliers, and external stakeholders to progress technical solutions.
n
- Help define and improve engineering standards, tools, and design practices.

Candidate profile

n

n
- Background in electrical engineering, power systems, or related discipline.
n
- Experience in renewable energy, energy storage, system planning, or consultancy.
n
- Strong understanding of network connection design and electrical infrastructure from high voltage through to LV.
n
- Familiarity with tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM-related platforms.
n
- Comfortable with commercial and technical analysis, including capex/opex considerations.
n
- Robust communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Knowledge of the Australian energy market is preferred or Australia based.
n
- Experience with BESS, solar PV, or wind projects would be an advantage.
