We are currently partnering with a leading construction business to recruit an Accountant to join their Sydney-based finance team.

n

The Role:

n

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of financial information.

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Completing daily bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
n
- Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and general ledger reconciliations
n
- Reconciling overhead and balance sheet accounts and providing commentary on key movements and variancesWorking closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate invoice coding and allocation
n
- Preparing monthly BAS workpapers
n
- Assisting with monthly management reporting and financial forecasting
n
- Managing and reconciling retention trust accounts
n
- Assisting with bank guarantee and bond administration
n
- Preparing ad hoc financial reports, reconciliations and analysis
n




- Supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting
n

n

About You

n

n
- 3+ years' experience in an Accountant or similar role
n
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting systems
n
- Excellent attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
n
- A proactive approach with the ability to work collaboratively across a finance team
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- A genuine interest in developing your accounting career
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; CPA qualification will also be considered
n
