About the Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient management of waste operations. You will lead a team of operational staff while overseeing day-to-day activities, resources, facilities, equipment and regulatory requirements.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supervisor from a waste management, hazardous materials, industrial, utilities, manufacturing or similarly regulated workplace to step into a unique and highly specialised operation.

About the Role
n
Reporting to the Manager, Waste Operations, you will be responsible for:
n
n
- Leading and supporting a team of operational and technical staff
n
- Coordinating daily work priorities, resources, rosters, leave and timesheets
n
- Ensuring waste is safely handled, processed, stored and transported
n
- Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures
n
- Managing operational facilities, plant and equipment
n
- Identifying operational risks, investigating issues and implementing practical solutions
n
- Maintaining accurate waste inventory and operational data
n
- Managing stakeholder expectations and providing practical advice to customers
n
- Coordinating external waste disposal providers and contractors
n
n
About You
n
Essential Requirements:
n
n
- Australian Citizenship is mandatory
n
- Must be willing to undergo and obtain the required security clearance
n
- Experience in waste management, hazardous materials, logistics, manufacturing, utilities or another highly regulated environment
n
n
Desirable Requirements:
n
n
- Previous experience supervising an operational, technical or trade-based team
n
- A Certificate IV in a relevant discipline or a relevant trade qualification
n
- Experience operating or overseeing plant, equipment or industrial processes
n
- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management and development
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and allocate resources effectively
n
- Strong understanding of safety, risk and compliance requirements
n
- Experience developing practical solutions to operational and technical issues
n
- Sound computer skills, SAP and Microsoft Officer highly regarded
n
- Excellent communication, reporting and problem-solving skills
n
n
