Job Description
Marble Arch Consulting Group (MAC) is seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer to join our Managed Services team in Alexandria, Sydney.
n
You'll help maintain the operational health of the network and security infrastructure we manage for our customers. This hands-on role covers enterprise routing and switching, wireless, load balancing and security platforms, with opportunities to resolve complex incidents, deliver approved changes and support recent solution implementations.
n
As an experienced member of the team, you'll act as an escalation point for junior engineers, take a leading role during major incidents and contribute to the team's technical development.
n

You'll join a collaborative team where you can broaden your technical experience, work across varied customer environments and make a visible contribution to the continued development of our managed services.

What you'll be doing
n
n
- Monitor customer network and security environments and respond to alerts
n
- Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests and work orders within agreed SLAs
n
- Lead the resolution of complex and major incidents
n
- Own tickets throughout their lifecycle, coordinating with vendors and technical teams
n
- Implement standard and approved changes, including occasional out-of-hours changes
n
- Support Cisco routing, switching and wireless infrastructure
n
- Operate and support Fortinet security platforms
n
- Develop runbooks, knowledge articles and operational procedures
n
- Onboard and maintain customer devices within SolarWinds and PRTG
n
- Provide accurate handovers for open incidents and in-flight changes
n
- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development
n
- Assist with implementations,
migration planning, testing and as-built documentation
n
- Support the successful transition of new solutions into production
n
- Contribute to service reporting and continuous improvement
n
n
What you'll bring
n
n
- Three to five years' hands-on experience supporting enterprise network and security infrastructure
n
- Experience gained in an MSP, enterprise service desk or comparable operational environment
n
- Operational experience with Fortinet FortiGate and FortiManager
n
- Cisco routing and switching experience, including Catalyst and ASR
n
- Experience with Cisco Nexus/NX-OS and/or Cisco wireless technologies such as Prime, WLC, Spaces or ISE
n
- Experience working within ITIL incident, change and problem-management processes
n
- Experience using network monitoring and IT service-management or ticketing systems
n
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent knowledge demonstrated through practical experience
n
- A structured approach to troubleshooting and incident resolution
n
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
n
- Willingness and eligibility to work staggered rostered hours and participate in an on-call rotation
n
n

- Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama
n
- Zscaler Branch Connector or Zscaler Internet Access
n
- Aruba switching, wireless or ClearPass
n
- Cisco CUCM or Webex Cloud
n
- F5 or comparable load-balancing platforms
n
- MPLS and SD-WAN
n
- ServiceNow, SolarWinds or PRTG
n
- Network scripting or automation
n
- CCNP, Fortinet certification, ITIL Foundation or relevant tertiary qualifications
