We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Regional Officer to support the delivery of transport services, compliance programs, and maritime operations across the Esperance region.

In this diverse role, you will represent the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure by undertaking compliance and education activities, supporting transport operators and community members, conducting inspections and investigations, and contributing to the protected operation of maritime facilities. Working both independently and as part of a collaborative regional team, you will play an important role in delivering positive transport outcomes for regional Western Australia.

The Ideal Candidate

The panel will be assessing applicants against the following suitability requirements:

- The ability to operate in a positive and productive work manner whilst being flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.
- High level of interpersonal, conflict resolution, verbal and written communication skills incorporating honesty and integrity.
- Possession of, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of commencement, a Marine Certificate of Competency (minimum Coxswain 2 or equivalent) in accordance with the Marine Safety (Domestic Commercial Vessels) National Law Act 2012 or equivalent, transferable maritime qualifications obtained in the Australian Defence Force
- The ability to build,



establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (internal and external) by negotiating clearly and concisely and having excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated ability to apply, investigate, research, interpret and collate information for investigative reports as well as Acts, Awards, Regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Current valid Western Australian C class motor vehicle driver's license or equivalent.
