Role Description
This contract Java Developer role is based in Canberra in a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with some work-from-home flexibility. The Java Developer will design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Java and related frameworks, ensuring code quality, performance, and reliability. Daily responsibilities include implementing new features, fixing defects, conducting code reviews, and contributing to microservices-based architectures. The role will involve working closely with project managers, product owners,
and other technical specialists to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, while following Agile development practices and documentation standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Software Development and Programming, with experience in building and maintaining enterprise applications.
- Proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework for developing secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Experience designing and implementing Microservices architectures, including integration, testing, and deployment.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development practices.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, relational databases, and basic security principles.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and manage priorities in a consulting context.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
