About the Role

As a Trainer & Assessor – Diploma of Community Services, you’ll play an important role in inspiring and preparing students for rewarding careers in the community services sector.

This is an opportunity to bring your real-world experience into the classroom and help shape the next generation of Community Services professionals.

What You’ll Do

- Deliver engaging classroom and practical training sessions aligned with the Diploma of Community Services curriculum and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and interactive activities that bring learning to life.




- Facilitate meaningful discussions and support learners from diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
- Share current industry knowledge, professional practices, and real-world insights.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation in line with RTO and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with academic colleagues to continuously enhance course content and the student learning experience.
- Participate in moderation and validation activities to maintain quality and compliance.
- Stay current with industry developments to ensure training remains relevant, practical, and impactful.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who combines industry expertise with a genuine passion for teaching and supporting others.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- A relevant vocational qualification in Community Services at Diploma level or higher.
- A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience training and assessing within the VET sector, ideally in Community Services or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of community services frameworks, legislation, ethical practice, and person-centred approaches.
- The ability to develop engaging lesson plans, learning resources, and a range of assessment tools.




- Confidence using learning management systems, digital teaching tools, and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in compliance, reporting, and documentation.
- A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining current industry knowledge.
