Our Commonwealth Client is developing a significant portfolio of digital, data and technology initiatives designed to strengthen Australia's national research capability and improve enterprise performance.
n
This work includes the responsible adoption of enterprise AI, improving data and digital maturity, strengthening cyber security, modernising end-of-life enterprise systems and ensuring critical research platforms remain scalable, secure and fit for purpose.

Role
n
Operating within a Digital Delivery Framework, you will work closely with Sponsors, Program Boards, Project Managers, technology delivery partners and senior business stakeholders to CxO level to:
n
n
- Mobilise complex digital, data and technology programs
n
- Translate program blueprints and strategic roadmaps into executable programs of work
n
- Define and govern program scope, outcomes, benefits, delivery roadmaps and success measures
n
- Align delivery priorities and investment decisions with strategy and enterprise roadmaps
n
- Manage dependencies across multiple projects, workstreams and stakeholder groups
n
- Establish governance, assurance and control frameworks, including stage gates, health checks and escalation pathways
n
- Oversee program risks, issues, change control and decision-support processes
n
- Lead financial management, forecasting, resource planning and procurement activities
n
- Manage vendors, commercial relationships and programs valued at more than $10 million annually (Commonwealth Procurement guidelines)
n
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and drive commitment to program outcomes
n
- Lead multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed delivery teams
n
- Oversee benefits realisation and the transition of new capabilities into operational support
n
- Provide clear reporting on program performance, financial position, risks, dependencies and decision readiness
n
- Embed lessons learned, assurance findings and continuous improvement into delivery practices
n
n
You will bring
n
n
- At least 10 years' experience in senior advisory, program leadership or digital transformation roles
n
- Demonstrated success mobilising and leading large, complex IT programs
n
- Extensive experience across digital transformation, data, cyber security, infrastructure, enterprise applications or technology delivery
n
- The ability to translate strategic roadmaps and program blueprints into structured, achievable delivery plans
n
- Strong experience defining and delivering measurable outcomes, benefits and organisational change
n
- A proven background establishing governance, assurance, risk and program-control frameworks
n
- The ability to influence executive stakeholders and navigate competing organisational priorities
n
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, resources, procurement and commercial outcomes
n
- Demonstrated responsibility for programs valued at more than $10 million annually
n
- Strong people leadership experience across multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams
n
- Advanced program reporting and performance-management capability
n
- The ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Baseline security clearance or higher
n
n
Experience working within an Australian Government agency or public-sector organisation, or within a scientific, research or higher education institution.
