General Support Officer / Catering Assistant

Buckland is a quality provider of Aged Care services situated in Springwood in the Lower Blue Mountains NSW. We are a well-established non-for-profit organisation and are well respected in our community.

n

Currently we are seeking highly motivatedcasual Catering Assistantsto join our team on a casual basis.Candidates must be available to work 6:30am – 3:00pm or 2:00pm – 8:00pm and be available to work any day of the week.

n

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

n

n
- Assisting the cook with the preparation of meal ingredients (food and beverage)
n
- Serving of resident meals
n
- Cleaning and sanitising all food preparation are according to standards of WHS and hygiene standards
n
- Use of the commercial dishwasher to wash cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards and dishes
n
- General kitchen cleaning and sanitizing according to daily cleaning schedule
n
- Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
n
- Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to kitchen area
n
- Completing required documentation and reporting
n




- Adhering to WHS requirements including the safe storage and use of chemicals and equipment.
n

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

- Have experience working in cooking and food preparation
n
- A knowledge of safe food handling principles & how to create a safe working setting
n
- Have knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
n
- Have strong organisational and time management skills
n
- Be proactive, flexible, able to show initiative and effectively work as part of a team
n
- Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
n
- Understands the need for privacy & confidentiality
n
