Senior Defence Engineering Managers - Maritime Capability & Sustainment

Our client supports complex Australian Defence maritime capability acquisition, transition and sustainment programs.
n About the opportunities

n

We are recruiting multiple senior Engineering Managers to support Defence maritime programs across two key workstreams:

n

n
- Capability acquisition, transition and Introduction Into Service
n
- Evolved Cape Class Patrol Boat support-system remediation and sustainment
n

n

These are senior engineering leadership roles focused on governance, technical assurance, capability transition, certification, configuration management and long-term supportability.
n The successful candidates will operate as trusted engineering advisers, working across Defence, Navy, SPO, military, logistics, sustainment and industry stakeholder groups.

n

Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide senior engineering leadership and technical advice
n
- Exercise or support delegated Engineering Authority arrangements
n
- Establish engineering requirements for transition and remediation activities
n
- Provide engineering governance and technical assurance
n
- Identify, assess and manage technical risks
n
- Support capability acquisition, transition and Introduction Into Service
n
- Prepare and review Engineering Management Plans and transition documentation
n
- Support safety cases, technical certification plans and acceptance activities
n
- Conduct technical investigations and provide recommendations
n
- Oversee engineering inspections, testing and evaluation
n




- Manage engineering change and configuration-control activities
n
- Establish and maintain controlled design baselines
n
- Lead or support Maintenance Task Analysis programs
n
- Oversee configuration audits and baseline verification
n
- Support technical data remediation, including drawings, maintenance documentation and Illustrated Parts Catalogues
n
- Ensure engineering outcomes are safe, compliant and supportable
n
- Advise stakeholders on sustainment and in-service support impacts
n
- Work closely with Defence, Navy, SPO and industry partners
n

Requirements

n

n
- Degree qualification in engineering or a related discipline
n




- Senior engineering-management experience within Defence or another highly regulated workplace
n
- Strong engineering governance and technical-assurance capability
n
- Experience managing technical risk, certification and acceptance
n
- Knowledge of Defence capability acquisition and sustainment
n
- Experience developing and reviewing engineering and project artefacts
n
- Strong configuration-management and change-control experience
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n
- Ability to operate autonomously as a trusted engineering adviser
n
- Australian citizenship and ability to meet Defence security requirements
n

Highly regarded experience

n

n
- Defence maritime systems and sustainment
n
- Capability transition and Introduction Into Service
n
- Previous experience within an SPO, CASG or Defence capability environment
n
- Delegated Engineering Authority arrangements
n
- Maintenance Task Analysis
n
- Design-baseline development and configuration audits
n
- CPEng and RPEQ qualifications
n
- Current NV1 security clearance
n

Important ECCPB requirement
n Candidates being considered for the Evolved Cape Class Patrol Boat workstream must have:

n

n
- Recent and direct ECCPB platform or support-system experience
n
- Current NV1 clearance
n
- Engineering Authority, configuration-management and technical-assurance experience
n

n

Candidates without ECCPB experience may still be considered for the broader capability transition and Introduction Into Service workstream.
