Laboratory Technician | McArthur River Mine | Northern Territory

At MRM, we're looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team. You will work in a multidisciplinary team environment sharing knowledge, skills and experience. This role supports our operations by providing specialised process chemistry and mineral analytical services to our Mining, Metallurgy, Workplace and Projects & Water departments.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, key responsibilities may include:

n

n
- Following laboratory standards and procedures.
n
- Daily sample preparation of ores and concentrates.
n
- Sample collection in the plant.
n
- Acid digest of solid samples and wet chemical techniques.
n
- Routine operation of laboratory equipment such as XRF, ICP-OES and benchtop analysers.
n
- Actively support and adhere to our safety procedures and practices.
n
- Data entry and quality control.
n
- Making chemical standards and solutions.
n
- Clean and maintain equipment and laboratory
n

Successful applicants for this role will ideally have:

n

n
- Attention to detail.
n
- Laboratory experience/exposure,



particularly in minerals labs.
n
- Good problem-solving skills.
n
- Able to work alone or in groups in a fast-paced environment.
n
- Strong commitment to safety.
n
- Excellent communication skills.
n
- Ability to perform physical work in hot and humid conditions.

The role will initially be offered on a 12 month fixed term basis with the potential to extend.
