Key responsibilities

Directly responsible for the accurate and timely placement of weekly food and kitchen orders, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained and unnecessary wastage or over-ordering is avoided.

Undertake and assist with regular stocktakes, ensuring stock levels and variances are accurately recorded and reported.

Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, recipe development, recipe costing and implementation of new menu items and specials.

Assist with roster development, ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained in line with operational requirements and wage targets.

Oversee the opening and/or closing of the kitchen, ensuring all required procedures and checklists are completed.

Lead and coordinate kitchen operations during service,



ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all sections.

Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef or other senior kitchen leadership.

Undertake food preparation and cooking duties as required across all kitchen sections.

Oversee food preparation and service to ensure company standards relating to quality, presentation, portion control and consistency are maintained.

Supervise and provide direction to chefs, cooks and other kitchen staff during preparation and service.

About you

Minimum 4 years cooking experience

Excellent organizational skills and positive time management

Ability to lead and motivate a team, communicate effectively with colleagues, and provide constructive feedback.

Strong cooking skills and a passion for food preparation and presentation.

An approachable leader who understands how to effectively manage teams to achieve shared goals and vision
