As the National Credit Manager, you will oversee ateam of four credit professionals. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in managing credit risk, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role requires a hands-on approach and a strategic mindset to balance risk with business growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, train, and motivate the credit control team (four direct reports);
n
- Assess the creditworthiness of customers, conducting thorough financial evaluations;
n
- Determine and manage customer credit limits to balance risk and sales opportunities;
n




- Oversee collections processes, including follow-ups on overdue accounts and negotiation of payment plans;
n
- Manage direct debit arrangements and monthly charge processes;
n
- Liaise with credit insurers and brokers to manage risk and reporting requirements;
n
- Monitor and analyse key credit metrics to improve processes and reduce overdue balances;
n
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices;
n
- Negotiate payment terms and credit agreements with customers.

Skills & Experience

n

- Proven experience leading a credit control team in a fast-paced environment;
n
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and collections management;
n
- Experience with high-volume, low-margin B2B transactions is highly desirable;
n
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills;
n
- Proficiency in financial analysis and credit reporting;
n
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
