Job Description
This is an opportunity to join an established food manufacturing business with a strong presence across chilled and ready-to-eat products. The business operates in a fast-paced, quality-led environment and they have a strong focus on food safety, compliance and continuous improvement. They are now looking to add a Quality Officer to their experienced QA team, supporting day-to-day quality activity across production.

The Role
n
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Officer will support day-to-day quality control and food safety activity across the site. This is a hands-on, site-based role working closely with production, QA, warehouse and broader operational teams to ensure products meet internal specifications, customer requirements and food safety standards.
n
Responsibilities include:
n
n
- Conduct quality checks across production to ensure products meet required specifications
n
- Support product release, sensory evaluation and positive release processes
n
- Complete environmental swabbing, micro testing coordination and air plate testing
n
- Liaise with external laboratories for microbial, allergen, nutritional and chemical testing
n
- Complete allergen checks, temperature probe checks and calibration activities
n
- Monitor CCPs, QCPs and RCPs to ensure they remain within required limits
n
- Complete quality monitoring checks across weights, labels, foreign matter, pest activity and product standards
n
- Support investigation of non-conformances and corrective actions
n
- Complete and verify online process documentation, including seal checks and quality records
n
- Support GMP, HACCP, SQF and food safety requirements across production areas
n
- Assist with site audits and audit preparation
n
- Support staff training, inductions and quality culture initiatives
n
- Work closely with supervisors, section leaders and production teams to maintain quality standards
n
- Assist with product development and R&D; projects where required
n
n
Your Background
n
In order to be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- 1–2 years' experience in a QA Officer, QA Assistant, Quality Technician or similar role
n
- Experience within food manufacturing
n
- Exposure to HACCP, GMP, SQF or similar food safety systems
n
- Understanding of quality checks, swabbing, micro testing, allergens, product release and documentation
n
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within short lead times
n
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with production teams
n
- Good organisation and time management skills
n
- A proactive approach and willingness to continue learning
n
