MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a rapidly growing organisation to identify an experienced Head of Recoveries to lead and transform a high-performing Recoveries function.

This is an excitingopportunity within a commercially driven organisation undergoing continued growth and operational transformation.
n The successful candidate will have genuine ownership of the Recoveries strategy, operational performance, people leadership and commercial outcomes.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Recoveries function while working closely with senior leaders across Legal, Operations, Finance, Customer Experience and other key business areas.

The Opportunity

n

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced recoveries professional who combines strong commercial acumen with operational leadership and stakeholder management capability.

n

You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end Recoveries function, driving improved recovery outcomes, strengthening governance and processes, and building a high-performance culture across a sizeable operational team.

n

You'll have the prospect to:

n

n
- Develop and execute the organisation's Recoveries strategy in line with broader commercial objectives
n
- Lead and optimise a large-scale Recoveries function, including developing leaders and building team capability
n
- Drive improvements across recovery rates, conversion, time to recovery and overall commercial performance
n
- Provide strategic advice to the COO and Executive Leadership Team on performance, risks, trends and opportunities
n
- Oversee complex and escalated recovery matters,



settlements and negotiations
n
- Establish best-practice frameworks, governance, processes and quality standards
n
- Use data, insights and performance metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvement
n
- Lead transformation, automation and process improvement initiatives
n
- Monitor litigation pipelines, outcomes, costs and key performance indicators
n
- Identify opportunities to resolve matters earlier and reduce unnecessary litigation costs and exposure
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, legal partners and other external stakeholders
n
- Partner closely with Legal, Operations, Finance, Sales and Customer Experience to improve end-to-end outcomes
n
- Ensure the Recoveries function operates within all relevant legislative, regulatory and internal requirements
n
- Develop succession plans and strengthen leadership capability across the function
n
- Foster a culture centred on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and high performance
n

About You

n

We're looking for a proven senior leader who can operate comfortably at both strategic and operational levels.

n

You will ideally bring:

n

n
- Significant leadership experience within recoveries, insurance, legal recoveries, financial services or a comparable commercial environment
n




- Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams and developing people leaders
n
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a proven ability to manage performance against targets and KPIs
n
- Experience within motor claims, insurance or accident-related services will be highly regarded
n
- Strong understanding of recoveries, negotiations, settlements and claims-related processes
n
- Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills
n
- A track record of delivering operational transformation and continuous improvement
n
- Strong analytical and commercial decision-making capability
n
- Experience developing governance, processes, controls and best-practice frameworks
n
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide commercially sound recommendations
n
- A collaborative, pragmatic and hands-on leadership style
n
