Senior Contract Administrator - Commercial Construction

n NOW Energy is partnering with a well-established and growing commercial construction builder specialising in refurbishment, fit-out and construction projects across the retail, education, hospitality, service station and commercial sectors.

n

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, we are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Administrator to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis.

n

This opportunity would suit an accomplished CA who has developed strong commercial and contractual expertise within a Principal Contractor environment and is comfortable taking ownership of the commercial administration of projects from award through to completion.

n

About the Role Working closely with Project Managers and the wider delivery team, you will take a senior role in the commercial and contractual management of projects while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

n

You will be expected to work autonomously, identify commercial risks early and ensure projects are administered effectively to achieve strong financial and delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Manage construction contracts throughout the full project lifecycle
n
- Take ownership of project commercial and contractual administration
n
- Prepare, review and administer hard dollar / fixed-price contracts
n
- Manage subcontractor tendering, evaluation, negotiation and procurement
n
- Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and scopes of work
n
- Manage project budgets, cost plans, forecasts and cash flow
n
- Assess and process subcontractor progress claims
n
- Prepare and manage head contract progress claims
n
- Identify, prepare, negotiate and manage variations
n
- Monitor project costs and identify emerging commercial risks
n
- Manage contractual notices,



extensions of time and other contractual requirementsli>

- Prepare accurate monthly project and commercial reporting
n
- Assist Project Managers with commercial strategy and decision-making
n
- Maintain robust relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
n
- Support and mentor less experienced Contract Administrators where required
n
- Assist with project close-out, final accounts and commercial handover
n

About You To be successful, you will ideally have:

n

n
- 6+ years' experience in Contract Administration within commercial construction
n
- Demonstrated experience working for a Principal Contractor
n
- Strong experience administering commercial construction projects from award through to completion
n
- Refurbishment and fit-out experience highly regarded
n
- Experience across retail, education, hospitality or similar commercial sectors advantageous
n
- Strong understanding of hard dollar / fixed-price construction contracts
n
- Proven subcontractor procurement and negotiation experience
n
- Strong knowledge of variations, claims, forecasting and cost control
n
- Ability to identify and manage contractual and commercial risk
n
- Excellent commercial judgement and negotiation skills
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
n
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
