About Ravensworth Complex
n
Ravensworth Complex comprises Ravensworth Open Cut and the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant, producing high-quality coal for the export market. Located in the NSW Hunter Valley near Singleton, the operation is approximately 70 kilometres north-west of Maitland and 90 kilometres north-west of Newcastle.

Ravensworth is a large, dynamic operation with a long mine life and approval to mine more than 14 million tonnes per annum. We are committed to safety, operational performance, continuous improvement and the development of our people.

About the Role
n
An opportunity exists for a Purchasing Officer to join our Supply team.
n
Reporting to the Supply Superintendent, you will support the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services required across the Ravensworth Complex. This is a part-time role working three days per week, with flexibility to work up to five days per week when required to provide leave coverage for existing team members.
n
Key Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
n
n
- Managing purchasing activities in accordance with company policies, procedures and approval requirements.
n
- Sourcing goods and services to achieve the best total cost, quality, availability and delivery outcomes.
n
- Converting purchase requisitions into accurate purchase orders and ensure invoices and deliveries are processed promptly.
n
- Monitoring supplier performance and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
n
- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs, minimise freight charges and improve supply outcomes.
n
- Coordinating with site, maintenance, warehouse, finance and operational teams to ensure timely supply.
n
- Maintaining accurate procurement records, supplier data, pricing and supporting documentation.
n
- Ensuring procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, statutory obligations and company requirements.
n
- Providing support to team members.
n

About You
n
To be successful, you will have:
n
n
- Previous experience in purchasing along with a strong knowledge of purchasing practices, supplier management and commercial principles.
n
- The ability to balance operational requirements with cost, quality, availability and delivery timeframes.
n
- Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and stakeholder-management skills.
n
- A high level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
n
- A strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
n
- Experience with SAP Materials Management (MM) will be highly regarded.
n
