Carpentry Apprentice Opportunities – Start Your Career With Action Trades & Apprenticeships

Action Trades & Apprenticeships is looking for motivated and reliable people who are ready to start a career in the construction industry as a Carpentry Apprentice.

n

If you enjoy working with your hands, want to learn a trade, and like seeing a project come together from start to finish, a carpentry apprenticeship could be the perfect career path for you.

Whether you're a school leaver, currently completing school, looking for a school-based apprenticeship, or wanting to start a recent career in construction, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Get to Experience

n

As an Action Trades & Apprenticeships Carpentry Apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to work with experienced tradespeople and gain practical experience across a range of construction projects, including:

n

- New home construction
n
- Renovations and extensions
n
- Commercial construction
n
- Framing and structural carpentry
n
- Roofing and external construction
n
- Fit‐out and finishing work
n

n

Our goal is to help you develop a broad range of carpentry skills throughout your apprenticeship so you can become a confident and capable tradesperson.

n

As you progress through your apprenticeship, you'll learn to:

n

n
- Construct wall and ceiling frames
n
- Construct pitched roofs and eaves
n
- Build external stairs
n
- Lay sub‐floors and floorboards
n
- Install fascia and external cladding
n
- Construct door and window frames
n
- Build concrete formwork
n
- Use a wide range of hand and power tools
n
- Read and interpret building plans
n
- Take levels and measurements
n
- Complete building calculations
n
- Follow construction plans and specifications
n
- Work safely as part of a construction team
n

What We're Looking For

n





We're looking for people who are genuinely interested in building a career in carpentry and construction.

n

To be considered, you should:

n

n
- Have a genuine interest in carpentry and the construction industry
n
- Be reliable, punctual and willing to learn
n
- Be physically fit and comfortable working in a construction environment
n
- Be able to follow instructions and take direction
n
- Have a strong attitude towards workplace safety
n
- Be self‐motivated and willing to work as part of a team
n
- Have good attention to detail
n
- Hold a current driver's licence and have reliable transport
n
- Hold a White Card, or be willing to obtain one
n
- Have a Certificate I or II in Construction (advantageous)
n
- Have previous construction experience (advantageous)
n

n

Most importantly, we're looking for the right attitude. You don't need to know everything when you start – we're looking for people who are willing to turn up, work hard, listen, learn and build their skills.

Action Trades & Apprenticeships is a Queensland-based apprenticeship and traineeship organisation focused on helping people build successful careers in the trades.

n

We work with Host Employers across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the Gold Coast, providing apprentices with practical training, industry experience and ongoing support throughout their apprenticeship.

n

Our aim is simple — help our apprentices become well‐rounded, skilled tradespeople with the experience and confidence to succeed in the industry.
